DC3HAM Firewall Issue on 9th May 2023

Dear Customer,

A standard change on the internal Firewall in our DC3HAM colocation triggered a high availability problem because of a years old unnoticed configuration error. This error resulted in the intrusion prevention blocking hosts that should not have been blocked, including DNS. These cascading error unfortunately took a while to cleanup.

A complete review of the firewall rules is already underway by 2 people independently.

Firewall/Internet Line Migration DC3HAM

Dear customer,

We have to carry out security and performance relevant hardware changes on our firewalls and move the external connection to a new circuit and a new firewall
We expect short connectivity interruptions within the maintenance window.

The work will be carried out in the night from Wednesday 26th April 2023 to Thursday 27th April 2023, the downtimes which are expected to be a few minutes, will be in the time window from 22:00 in the evening till 03:00 in the morning.

The maintenance is scheduled for :

2023-04-26 22:00 CET (Central European Time) till 2023-04-27 03:00 CET (Central European Time)

We will test the systems after the maintenance window and inform you about the status.
